Gallant

The song “Weight in Gold” by Gallant, remixed by Ekali is about a relationship that is falling apart and the couple trying to do anything to make it work. The song, though dramatic in subject matter, incorporates a relatively upbeat feeling with a driving flow.

The concept revolves around two "characters" represented by toy-like configurations of basic shapes. These characters are dynamically driven, moving through the environment largely on their own. By relinquishing direct control over the character's movements, I hoped to garner a more lifelike act from the little machines.

Over the course of the project the characters gained the names Bobblebot and Scootbot.
